Dad’s the man! He’s handy, he’s funny (even if he tells one-too-many Dad jokes sometimes) and he’s always got your back. This Father’s Day, give Dad a gift that shows him you care. We’re sharing our favorite, thoughtful gift ideas for every sports-obsessed, dinner-cooking, video-game-playing, hard-working Dad out there.
1. Let Dad rest
Your dad works hard, whether he’s in the office or at home. If you're looking for a gift Dad will really appreciate, give him an hour (or maybe two!?) of peace and quiet for Father’s Day. If you have young kids, take them to the pool for the afternoon or to Grandma's for a little while. If you'd rather spend actual Father's Day with Dad, give him a "Quiet Time Coupon" that he can redeem at a later date.
Making sure Dad has time to rest is awesome, but you should make sure he has the tools to get good rest, too. Sometimes, Dad is so busy taking care of everyone else, he may forget to take care of himself. If he’s sleeping on an old, creaky mattress or still has that lumpy, old pillow, we’re here to help. What better gift is there than the gift of Zzz’s?
- Shop our two (awesome) mattresses for Dad. The Leesa mattress is made with premium, cooling foam for the comfort and support Dad needs in his bed. The Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress has all the benefits of the Leesa, with the added support of individually-wrapped springs.
- Is it a new pillow he's in need of? Dad will love our Hybrid pillow, designed to be totally customizable so he can tailor it how he likes. With a cooling gel side and reverse down-like quilted side, the Hybrid pillow is sure to make you Dad’s favorite kid.
- The perfect mattress deserves the right base. Shop our bed bases today and give Dad a base that will support his new favorite mattress and match his bedroom style.
2. Give him a gift you can use together
Nothing beats quality time spent together, so why not give him a gift you can use together. Maybe Dad loves to cook. Give him a cookbook or get all the ingredients together to spend an hour making his favorite meal. Do you have a crafty Dad? Plan a project and finish it together. If Dad is an expert gardener (or takes pride in his yard), offer to help pull weeds or take a trip to your local nursery and freshen the flowerbeds this Father’s Day.
While they're not traditional gifts, showing interest in Dad's interests will make his day and he'll appreciate spending quality time with the family.
3. Plan an activity at home
How about a relaxing day at home for Father’s Day? He’s always moving and going—whether he’s being handy around the house, running errands or working late. He’ll appreciate some quiet time with family at home. Here are a three of our favorite ways you can spend Father’s Day at home:
- Plan a movie night (on your Leesa mattress, wink wink). Pop some popcorn, get his favorite candy and choose a movie that’s great for the whole family. You could even order some pizza and make it a movie marathon day with Dad.
- Make him a home-cooked meal. Let him sit back and relax for a change (and maybe sip on his favorite drink!) while you whip up a delicious meal. Nothing shows Dad you care like cooking his favorite dish.

- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Directions:

- Add tomato sauce, oregano, basil garlic powder, pasta and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

- Remove from heat and top with mozzarella and remaining pepperoni.
- Put in oven and cook until cheese is melted or golden brown (about 2 minutes).
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
4. Plan an activity out of the house
Take the time to plan an out-of-the-house activity that Dad will love for Father’s Day. Head to your local Top Golf, go bowling, take a hike or spend the day by the pool or at the beach. Make sure you consider how you’ll get there, food and supplies you’ll need so that Dad doesn’t have to do any of the work.
If you’re headed to the beach, pack a picnic lunch. Even if it’s something as simple as sandwiches, chips and fruit, he’ll appreciate the thoughtfulness. If you’re going to be in the sun, don’t forget to pack sunscreen and extra water.
5. Book Dad a spa day
Yep—you heard us right. Book. Dad. A. Spa. Day. This gives him some quiet, alone time where the focus is solely on him for a change.
We know, it sounds funny, but the spa is not just for Mom! Dad deserves to be pampered, too. He may not get his eyebrows waxed or his toenails painted (no judgement if that’s what he wants!), but even Dad can benefit from a facial and massage. He’ll come home feeling spoiled, zen and thankful.
6. Make Dad a gift
As with many of these thoughtful gift ideas, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on Dad for him to feel special. Why not make him a gift? (This is an especially great idea with young children.)
Write him a card, make him a mixed tape, build him a birdhouse. You know Dad best, so think about what he’d like and go for it. If you’re making cards, encourage the kids to write their own messages and definitely don’t hold back on the dried macaroni, feathers and of course, glitter.
Another homemade gift idea we love is creating a memory jar. Again, this is great to do with young children. Help the kids fill a mason jar or container with memories they have with dad (you can even throw in a few yourself). You can write them on popsicle sticks, puzzle pieces, Legos—anything that will fit in your jar. Then, you can all sit down with Dad and read each memory on Father’s Day.
From homemade gifts to quiet time to his new favorite pillow, Dad will appreciate your thoughtful gift this Father’s Day. Still not sure what to get him? We’re here to help. Shop our mattresses, pillows, bases and accessories to find the perfect gift for Dad this year.
