Leesa Partners with Shark Tank Investor Daymond John to Donate 270 Mattresses to Philadelphia’s Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission
PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 26, 2017) – Direct-to-consumer online luxury mattress retailer Leesaannounced that it has teamed up with Shark Tank investor Daymond John to donate 270 mattresses to the Philadelphia-based Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission. The donation, with a retail value of more than $55,000, will allow the organization an opportunity to replace all of their currently worn-down beds across their emergency, long-term, women and family programs. This event kicks off an ongoing partnership between Leesa and Daymond John, purpose-built to shed light on the problems people face while seeking refuge from homelessness, human trafficking and domestic risk.
As part of Leesa’s One-Ten program, which donates one mattress for every ten Leesa sells, Daymond John and Jen-Ai Notman, head of social impact at Leesa, deliver and unbox the brand new mattresses alongside residents and staff, honoring an organization that has provided services and second chances to those in need. Last year alone, Sunday Breakfast provided 62,219 nights of shelter to people in need.
