Greenwashing? Eco-branding? Not at Leesa. We walk the walk when it comes to sustainable business practices.
Our commitment to eco-friendly practices with minimal environmental impact powers everything we do at Leesa. From responsible material sourcing to plastic waste reduction, we continuously work to create products and initiatives that support and preserve the planet.
One of our most significant sustainable initiatives is our partnership with CleanHub, a collaboration that prevents plastic waste from polluting our environment. Together, we're on track to keep 44,100 pounds of plastic out of the oceans and landfills this year alone.
Our Partnership with CleanHub
Leesa joined forces with CleanHub to address one of the biggest threats to our environment: plastic pollution in the oceans. This partnership is part of our larger commitment to sustainable business practices and environmentally friendly approaches.
CleanHub’s mission is simple yet impactful—stop plastic waste before it enters the water. Between our sustainable business practices and CleanHub’s on-the-ground efforts, we've kept over 22 tons of plastic out of our planet's oceans.
Green Worms: Empowering Women While Collecting Plastic
Our partnership with CleanHub goes beyond sustainability practices and waste reduction strategies to corporate social responsibility.
CleanHub works with Green Worms, an organization dedicated to reducing plastic waste in coastal communities. This collaboration promotes sustainable development and solves global challenges through innovative waste management practices.
Green Worms hires women in impoverished and under-resourced countries to go door to door and collect plastic waste. For many of these women, this is their first well-paying job.
This financial independence empowers them and their families and brings much-needed economic stability to their communities. So we reduce ocean pollution—and also contribute to the financial empowerment of women in these disadvantaged regions.
Our Environmental Impact: Progress So Far
Since we joined forces with CleanHub and Green Worms, Leesa has helped stop significant amounts of plastic from reaching our oceans. Every bit of plastic collected represents a tangible win for both the environment and the communities involved.
CleanHub’s impact report highlights how much progress we’ve made together—and we’re just getting started. We'll continue to track our progress and make ongoing improvements to our sustainable business practices. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made so far, and we look forward to even greater results as we work toward a more sustainable future.
Leesa’s Eco-Friendly Products and Sustainable Practices
Leesa’s commitment to sustainable business practices extends beyond partnerships. We design all of our products with the environment and our customers in mind.
Premium materials for mattress longevity
To start, we carefully select every material that goes into our products. We don't go for the cheapest solution—we opt for sustainable materials like premium fibers, CertiPUR-US certified foams, and organic and recycled fabrics that will hold up long term. So you get affordable mattresses and bedding that last for years, instead of cheaply made products that end up in landfills.
All of our mattresses are also GREENGUARD Gold Certified, which means they've undergone rigorous testing and meet the highest safety standards. Our Leesa Natural Hybrid Mattress, crafted with organic cotton and wool, combines comfort with eco-conscious materials and sets a new standard for environmentally friendly sleep solutions.
And while most of our customers love their Leesa mattresses, sometimes it’s just not the right fit. When that happens, we’ll donate your returned like-new mattress to someone in need through our partnerships with charitable organizations. If a return is dirty or damaged, we ensure it’s responsibly recycled.
Sustainable strategies for a reduced carbon footprint
All of our mattresses are fiberglass-free to ensure healthier sleep and avoid the harmful environmental impact of fiberglass production. In fact, our entire manufacturing facility is 100% fiberglass-free to keep our employees and customers as safe as possible.
We also incorporate renewable energy into our operations to further reduce our company's carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions. This extends to our supply chain as well. We group shipments, source 80% of raw materials domestically, and opt for sea freight whenever possible to reduce our transportation emissions and keep our entire business model environmentally friendly.
Our environmental impact goals
These sustainable business practices reflect our ongoing dedication to responsible material sourcing, mattress recycling, and carbon footprint reduction. With every mattress we make, we aim to create a healthier planet for future generations through sustainable practices that reduce energy usage and environmental impact.
Why Sustainability Matters to Our Customers—and Future Generations
At Leesa, we know that our customers care about the environment just as much as we do. When you choose Leesa, you get more than a great mattress—you support our efforts to reduce plastic waste, empower women, and promote more sustainable business practices.
Our eco-friendly commitment ensures that every Leesa purchase you make has a positive impact on your well-being and that of the planet. Every purchase drives measurable change, and that’s something we can all feel good about.
What’s Next for Leesa and CleanHub? A Sustainable Future
We’re proud of the work we’ve done so far, but we know this is just the beginning. We'll continue to refine and add to our environmentally friendly practices as we strive for a more sustainable future.
Alongside CleanHub and Green Worms, we’re committed to stopping even more plastic from entering the oceans. And as we move forward, we’ll stay innovative and design even more eco-friendly products that contribute to a healthier planet and a healthier you.

Still have questions about sustainable business practices? We have the answers here!
What is a sustainable business practice?
A sustainable business practice is a strategy or action that aims to minimize negative environmental impacts and promote economic and social responsibility. These practices focus on the long-term health of the planet and the well-being of people—not just profits. From waste reduction strategies and recycling to renewable energy and ethical material sourcing, the goal is to operate in a way that supports the environment and society.
What is an example of sustainability in business?
An example of sustainability in business would be a company using renewable energy sources to power its operations. They might install solar panels or switch to a green energy provider to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower their carbon footprint.
Another example of business sustainability is adopting a circular economy model—where products are designed to be reused or recycled rather than ending up in landfills.
